# Look up an MCP server's sign-in

> Look up the sign-in of the MCP server at ``url``, or of the server of the discovered provider ``provider_id``.

Persists nothing. ``origin`` is the deployment origin a sign-in would start from: it decides the
callback address an app registered by hand must allow and whether this deployment's client-identity
document can serve the login. An unknown provider is a 404; a declared one a 400.
